Doc 6 states Margaret Jane Stiltz married John Charles Hewitt on 13 Sep, 1867. Other sources state 2 Sep., 1867.
Doc 6 also states that Charlotte Hewitt (Lottie) was born in 1868, while doc 7 and doc 10 say 1867. Doc 14 and her tombstone says Charlotte was born in 1867. An 1867 birthdate means Charlotte was illegitimate.
Doc 6 says Emma Hewitt died in 1951 while doc 7 says 1950. Her tombstone says 1951.
Doc 6 says Charles Freeman Hewitt was born in 1874 and doc 7 says 1875. His tombstone says 1875.
Doc 6 says Mark Ray Hewitt was born in 1878 while doc 7 says 1879. His tombstone says 1879.
I doubt that any of these discrepancies between doc 6 and doc 7 mean a damn, but if anyone ever reads this, I’d like them to know I did see the differences in documents.
This entire note, doc 6, looks like it may be in my mother’s hand, but the note at the bottom concerning ‘Jacob La Rooh’s widow’ is definitely her handwriting. What she is referring to is that the story on at least one side of the family is that John Charles Hewitt’s children by Margaret Jane Stiltz inherited everything while her child by Jacob La Rooh got what the cat left on the bridge.
