  1. MORMON COULEE — Violet H. Kunert, 86, of Mormon Coulee, rural La Crosse, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, at her home.
She was born Sept. 6, 1925, in Dakota, Minn., to Bert and Maud (Snider) Trocinski. On Feb. 27, 1942, Violet married the love of her life, Albert Kunert, and they shared 68 years of marriage. Violet was a wonderful homemaker who baby-sat for numerous area families and was lovingly called “Grandma” by many children. She was known for her delicious O’Henry bars and for spending her summers growing and selling raspberries from her treasured raspberry patch. Violet will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to the family members listed above, Violet is further survived by two brothers, Bert Trocinski and Lowell (Bonnie) Trocinski; three sisters, Milly Larson, Ardis Jorgenson and Fae (Charlie) Harris; one sister-in-law, Irene Trocinski; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
