Sitka is a tender port and it was a process to go ashore. We skipped it the first time we went through. Instead, we went up on the fantail and took a couple bloody marys’ into the hot tub.
We were in Sitka again this AM. Damnedest thing. We had data service on the ATT 3G here. It is extremely slow. Slower than dialup, but I did manage to check the MLB standings.
It was another typical misty foggy day when we woke, but it cleared and warmed so we ended up going into town in t-shirts. Where we ended up in Eddie’s, a dark bar. Go figure.
Actually we walked around town first. Saw St. Michael’s Russian church and the Russian cemetery, a few other sights and then stopped by the bar. We were just going to slake Cathy’s thirst, but it was our kind of place and we ended up chatting with the locals and having a few.
